I do wonder whether I'm going to feel like a numpty travelling at my age......oh yes the many women YouTube vloggers will say....so many more are doing it.....solo travel over 50, but will there be any...really....when I get there
........I have booked my flight to Jakarta I did it quickly so that I couldn't change my mind
When I travelled as a 22 year old it was one of the most amazing experiences I ever had. I still have the memories of jetting off to Israel and arriving in Tel Aviv (where we were split up and questioned separately)* - the three of us, me Carol & Mark, friends from Uni, from my Physics course.

But then the world was a different place. It was 1993 and there was no internet or mobile phones. We had cameras with film inside (which were stolen later...by another traveller)*
and we were young. I was young.
so it will be completely different.
funny because I still in my mind see myself as that 22 year old - in this older lady body. ha ha
so I have thought about cancelling my flight etc. a few times. Cancelling my travel insurance under the 14 day cooling off period......there are many things in my life atm that are unresolved and I can't be too accused of melodramatics to say....a mess.
But I have a year off to scratch that itch - who gets that chance - I am lucky! - I should appreciate my situation and get on and do what I always yearned to.
I wanted my freedom - now I 'kind of' have it. Trail of destruction behind me......but that's a whole other story too painful to tell yet.
