Very slow start to the day, then a walk from Huka Falls along the river
Then I had my picnic lunch at another thermal park - The Craters of the Moon - it was good value at only $10 and really nice.
This gives a view of how this thermal activity was looked upon by the Maori people
It is interesting how the opening of the geothermal power station has affected the area over time - Landscape - hidden story
The drive around Lake Taupo was fantastic
& I am camped up in the Kaimanawa Forest
Another free camp ground with toilets 🚻 & water.....currently plenty from the sky too, very showery!
