Airport

14th January - 7:00 am

Waiting at the airport now.......already feel tired. I watched 'The Roses' last night, (thanks for the recommendation Eve!). It was funny in places, but also sad. Not the best or worse film I've seen.

I didn't sleep brilliantly.  I kept dreaming that I was still traveling about in my camper.

Alarm was set for 5am but woke at 4 & stayed awake then, did a final bit of packing, and put my large bag out in the lobby of the hostel - then realised I had left the key card in the room, so had locked myself out!

I tried going outside - in the rain to the 'patio' door - which is usually always open. This time it was locked so I tapped on the window until someone let me in - thankfully! 🙄.....what an idiot!

They don't seem to be in any hurry to take down Christmas decorations in New Zealand.

Sat in the hostel until the taxi driver arrived at 5.30 am. I wanted to get to the airport in plenty of time as I couldn't check-in online. I think this is a usual thing for Jetstar international flights.

Had an interesting chat with Ravi the taxi driver about travel, life & marriage.

Checking in at the airport was all smooth & I'm currently waiting near my gate. The weather has turned colder & rainy here.

I have left behind a couple of items of warm clothing I had collected so I do hope it is hot in Malaysia. I've held onto the trainers I aquired, for now, as my sandals are starting to fall apart. I'm hoping to buy/get some new ones soon.

I've started reading 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde, which I picked up in the charity shop back in Melbourne.

This story has always intrigued me so looking forward to getting into this book.

Note:

How hilarious 😂... I've just had an email from YouTube about the video above:

I was thinking when I recorded it - shame about the annoying inane pop music in the background......apologies Dua Lipa.......... who knew!

9.03 - on board. I have an 'exit' seat

You get more legroom but they ask on check-in if you are 'willing & able to assist the flight crew in an emergency '.

😧

19:00 at Singapore Airport

Self transfer was fine, as was transfer at Melbourne

& 7 hour, 50 minute flight.....all the airports look the same today out the window, except here it's 29 °C

Last leg -  1 hour 15 to Penang

It should be midnight - no wonder I'm tired
