Boardwalks

26th January

Breakfast was a 'cokolat pancake' - sadly they had no banana.

Then a walk into the national park

I think you can swim here if you want but then the signs were a bit contradictory.......not sure I'd go in there......

The walk was so cool through such amazing trees & plants

There were lots of big butterflies and strange floating insects

I was heading for Teresek Hill, following the signs

At Cameron Highlands the town, Tanah Rata was at 1500 m elevation & on a warm sunny day we climbed up to around 392 m with no sweat due to the cooler temperatures.

With Kuala Tahan being at 131 m, & despite Teresek Hill only being 344 m up, I was sweating buckets!

There were some weird noises going on around me!

The views near the top and then further up were worth the climb

Some of these steps felt a bit precarious to say the least.....and wobbly

I found an opening to the river and had fun watching the boats

The canopy walk was closed due to bad weather causing damage & fallen trees

But the walk back to Kuala Tehan jetty was so nice

I found myself at this posh holiday village with little cabins

and naughty monkeys. This one was doing something obscene to a younger monkey.......

Rabia told me a story about someone who had his passport pinched from his bag, by a monkey, in the jungle. They had to send some people out into the jungle to find the monkey and get it back. It cost him a lot of money......I wonder if they had that monkey trained!

At the jetty I met Zeus from The cave hostel. I was chatting but the boat man was hurrying me along.

I then met Laura - spelt Lara - at the 'Wild Lodge' and sat & had a chat with her. She showed me this:

😂 - I think they have added this to booking.com now!
Ha! Good luck mate. Wait till you have your first 30 year old complaining about the top bunk!.....
Lara was doing the night walk tonight, through the forest so I booked on too.

I went back to my room to chill and read my book.......I discovered I had a balcony!! There were some really unusual birds landing in the trees

It's so nice here, I love it
