7th April
Arrived very early at Tokyo - Haneda airport
The toilets at the airport had some interesting soundtracks!
Today I made a video explaining the events of my first day in Tokyo:
So here's a bit of the Monorail & Tube rides: (It struck me that most people were in suits & muted colours.....nothing bright or very colourful). It felt like evening to me but it was morning rush hour & got busier later.
Then the walk to the Hostel Wasabi Asakusa to drop my bags.
The soft 'piano jazz' music plays constantly (I've noticed it in a lot of places, cafes, shops etc....)
So, I noticed today that the shape of Vietnam is almost exactly the same as Japan.......
and I'm reading a book that I swapped with a German girl in Hoi An that was, funny enough, written in Tokyo by a Japanese author - translated to English.
It's short stories and in the first story it talks about a kind of cake, I'd never heard of before called a Castella and I found one in the 7 - 11 this morning so that was my breakfast.
......not this one....
It feels a little surreal to think I'm in Tokyo. I sometimes feel like I'm in a dream or a movie or something........
......anyway - SPOILER ALERT ⚠️ - the ending to 'Lost in Translation ' I've put below, with some pictures I took today of the spot where this part of the movie was filmed. (I do find it fun to find these places - sad I know!) Near to Shinjuku Train Station.
